Surly Furious

The Surly Brewing Company is in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota and currently only distributes itself in the greater Twin Cities area.  It is fair to say that Surly is one of the most talked about and coveted brewers at the current time.  Their beers are consistently delicious and flavorful.  They are about to undergo a huge multi-million dollar expansion, building a larger brewery and destination taproom.  The exact location in the Twin Cities metro area is still being worked out (it has since been picked for South East Minneapolis near the University of Minnesota).

"Beer for a Glass, From a Can"

This American IPA has 6.2% ABV and 99 IBU's.  The beer pours a dark copper and orange in color, trending almost to garnet.  There is a tall inch or more of thick, creamy, foamy head, off-white in color.  The aroma is strong pine, spruce, pineapple, melon, citrus over a strong bed of caramel malt.  The taste is deep rich malt, caramel, citrus and pine.  The finish is fairly bitter.  The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy.  Furious is delicious and a top notch IPA.
