Lakefront Bock

The Lakefront Brewery is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  There is a goat on the label.  Why are there so often goats on bock beers?  Apparently bock can also mean billy goat in German.

This 6.7% ABV beer pours a very deep copper and burnt orange to dark amber and brown in color.  There is a half-inch of off-white head.  The aroma is very malty, roasted and toasted, some sweet potato, and a bit of raisin.  The taste is richly malty and follows the aromas directly, and has just enough bitterness on the finish to counteract any sweetness.  This is a malt bomb of the best kind.
