Sierra Nevada Hoptimum

The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is in Chico, California.

This is a whole-cone imperial IPA coming in at 10.4% ABV and 100 IBU's.  The beer pours bright orange copper in color, with a half inch head of creamy foam which is off-white in color.   Thick and sticky lacing is left on the glass as the beer is consumed.  The aroma is, not surprisingly, very hoppy. There is the thick, heavy scent of well-ripened tropical fruits at an outdoor market, pine resin and cedar shingles, and orange marmalade.  The flavor is massive, one tastes all the different aromas, the mouth tingles, the shoulders shudder, and there is a powerful, mouth-puckering bitterness on the finish.  Both the flavors and the intense bitterness linger in the mouth.  This is a whopper.
