Northern Honey Brown Lager

The Northern Brewing Company is in Cold Springs, Minnesota (Cold Springs Brewing).

This beer with honey added pours a medium dark brown, dark enough to be translucent, but not transparent.  There is a tall half-inch of creamy head, light brown in color, that leaves thick lacing down the glass.  The aroma is of roasted malt, light, and lightly sweet.  The taste is lightly sweet and tangy, light roasted malt, a bit nutty.  It is carbonated, but not overly so, and the head adds a nice creaminess.  It is definitely a brown lager and not as flavorful as a brown ale, but far better than what I expected from a discount beer line.
