McNeill's Dead Horse IPA

McNeill's Brewery is in Brattleboro, Vermont.  This 5.7% ABV beer is bottle-conditioned, and according to the bottle, it is the winner of 13 national and international awards.  According to their website, it is an English-style IPA.

The beer pours a hazy deep amber and burnt orange in color.  There is a half-inch of creamy, foamy head that is off-white to very light brown in color.  The beer has a fruitiness reminiscent of Juicy Fruit gum.  There is orange marmalade with a touch of iodine.  The taste follows the aroma quite directly.  It is on a solid malt base, but the hops predominate, leaving a very dry and bitter finish.
