Lakefront Brewery Fixed Gear American Red Ale

The Lakefront Brewery is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and has been brewing since 1987.

This 6.5% ABV beer pours slightly hazy, red-orange-amber in color.  There is a small head of very light brown foam.  The aroma is spicy and piney, over a solid base of malt and caramel.  The taste is a deep, rich juxtaposition of caramel maltiness and apricot, spice, pine, and fruits.  The finish is moderately bitter, with a pleasant aftertaste of lingering flavors.

I sampled this on tap at the 2011 St. Paul Summer Beer Fest.  It was good enough to stick in my mind as delicious despite all the samples tried that day.
