Hofbrau Munchen Oktoberfest

This is the Oktoberfest beer of the Hofbrauhaus in Munchen (Munich), Germany.

The beer pours a dark golden in color with a half inch of pure white, thick foam.  The aroma is grassy, earthy, straw, grain, herbal, and lager "funk."  The taste follows the aromas.  This is not as roasted malty and slightly sweet as a lot of Oktoberfests I have had.  It leans more to the German lager side, but it is still very flavorful.   The mouthfeel is creamy and the finish is dry and moderately bitter.  If you like flavorful German lagers, you should like this one.  I know I enjoyed it.
