Rio Bravo

I had never heard of this particular brand of Mexican beer, so when I saw it at John's Grocery in Iowa City, Iowa I knew I had to give it a try.

Rio Bravo Pilsener – worst of the Mexican beers. Like a sour lager. List any of the major name Mexican beers, they are better than this; Old Style, Old Milwaukee, Schlitz, PBR, etc. are all better than this.  Alcohol By Volume 4.8%

Rio Bravo Special Dark Beer – this is a really nice dark beer. Way better than the Rio Bravo Pilsener which is unexceptional. Here is what the distributor Stawski Distributing had to say on their website:
"The color is bright, clear, dark brown. The aroma is lightly sweet, pleasant toasted malt, with a slight coffee background. The flavor is a wonderful balance of roasted malt with a bit of a sweetness, nice bitterness from the hops. This medium bodied dark beer has great carbonation and finishes with strength.  Great aftertaste.
Alcohol By Volume 5.2%
